Where to Start Page & Golden Week Promo!
Tuesday, April 29th, 2008Mina-san,
When we first started JapanesePod101.com, we only had a few lessons and a few levels, so it was very easy to figure out how to use the site. But now with over 700 lessons and many different levels and series, a lot of people have asked us “Where should I start?” While there are many ways to use the site, we definitely have a few recommendations!
We grouped the lessons in 4 categories Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced and Miscellaneous. Also we designated each level linear or non-linear. Then we listed descriptions of the each course and included the first and last lesson so you can better gauge which levels are perfect for you!

Also, since it’s Golden Week, we’re running a special Promo to save you 33% on any Basic or Premium Subscription! Woo-hoo!

This blog gives a very good analysis of what’s available on Japanesepod101.com. Thanks! In my own case, I have gone back to the Beginner Lessons, even though I have been listening to JPOD for two years. I am now on Lesson #125. I felt I had too many gaps in my knowledge. I was getting exposure by listening to all the lessons, but I needed to study more. Since I have a Premium Subscription, I can use the Learning Center. I do the line-by-line audio, recording my own voice. This is helping my pronunciation. I study the kanji and the vocabulary, by looking at the lists, then doing the flashcards. After all that, I take the quizzes. That whole thing takes about one hour. JPOD is great because there are so many resources and you can go back and re-learn things!
