2008 Intro Transcripts in the Lesson PDF!

Tuesday, January 8th, 2008

Mina-san, I hope you enjoyed the holidays!

Since we started doing the intros at the beginning of the lessons, we got tons of questions about them. To address these, we did 2 Japanese Culture Classes and explained a few of them. We’ll definitely be doing more Culture Classes on the intros (as well as other cultural topics). But we went ahead and added a new section to the Lesson Notes. Now you can find the Japanese transcript and corresponding English translation after the Grammar Point. We hope this helps make a little sense out of the madness (笑). I think this will be particularly helpful for the 2008 intros which all involve a mini-drama running from Monday to Friday.

Enjoy!

I know I’m outvoted - but I really, really, dislike the gag introductions, and the current trend of “sillyness” that is becoming more common in JPod101

Yes, so you can put “gag” introductions in, play around with audio by repeating sounds and changing pitch, and giggle and laugh in the background,
( Example: Nihongo Dojo lesson 23 Bonus track - a complete waste of time !! ) but is it really what JapanesePod101 is all about?

As a student at beginner level, I find it very discouraging to get ready to listen to a lesson and then to be confronted by a high speed burst of Japanese that I just don’t understand

A bit of fun is fine - but please don’t overdo it !!

    My wishful thinking ???
Introductions to be rolled out separately from the lessons so people can listen to them if they want, but they don’t distract from the lessons, or introductions used only in intermediate or higher level lessons

I agree with you the jokes went out of control, they are no longer jokes or kidding, they are attacks or indirect comments toward anyone include me who feels identify on similar situations. (The coat felt on me)

There are no longer funny OK!!! S_R_C
