New Lesson Browser and Grammar Bank Search
Monday, December 31st, 2007Hope everyone is enjoying their holiday season. With the year coming to a close we managed to squeeze in two more exciting enhancements.
Lesson Browser
The new lesson browser was developed with simplicity and convenience in mind. Broken down into “Core Lessons” and “Extra Lessons”, this new features lets you quickly find the lessons you love. The new browser offers the following functionality:
- Brief description of each lesson level for new users coming in contact with JapanesePod101.com for the first time
- A Quick Jump menu to quickly find your favorite lessons within a particular level
- Sort functionality to arrange lessons by date (newest first or oldest first)
- A global search functionality to find any lesson by searching the title or description fields.

Grammar Bank Search
With over 100 Japanese grammar constructions, the Grammar Bank, available in our Premium Learning Center, was getting a bit unwieldy. So to make finding grammar items a bit easier, we’ve added a full text search functionality. Search the Kanji, Kana, English, Samples, Formation, Notes, and Explanation fields to find the grammar you want to master.

As for future features, our content and product development teams have a ton of new and exciting enhancements for 2008. So stay tuned for more announcements.
As always, leave us a comment and let us know what you think of these new features and how we can make them better.
Don’t forget our 25% Off Holiday Sale expires in just a few days, so now is the perfect time to pick up a Basic or Premium subscription. For more information about this promotion, visit this page.
Thank you for a wonderful 2007, and a happy and healthy New Year to everyone.

Happy New Year 2008!!! JP101.
I really enjoying this new two features so much. I using the lesson browser and looking at back lesson way back 2006 and 2005 and found very interesting stuff and surprises too like I didn’t knew that Nathan-san was a listener of JP101.
Whatever happen to Nathan-san!
Grammar Bank is excellent and all the words that had been in the lessons, I started to print everything out.
Well thank you for your time and keep up this great work guys!

Yes! Any attention that the Grammar bank gets, I’m very happy about. Part of my new method is to focus on sentence structures and grammar points, so being able to search the grammar bank is very helpful.
The lesson browser is helpful, as well. Great job, tech team.

Hi, I’m Ronny Stein from Chicago, and I am enjoying your excellent Japanese program. I paid $180 for a premium subscription fairly recently and noticed that there was shortly thereafter a sale where the premium subscription was reduced to $99! Is there a way I can take advantage of the sale offer…I am experiencing a bit of buyer’s remorse! Thank you again…you guys are asounding. I find myself somewhat addicted to Japanesepod101. Also, I’m a sort of an advanced beginner and I would like some suggestions on how to organize my personal study with your programs….so far I’ve simply been going to the 2005 beginners casts, and starting there, going through them quickly. Just making sure this is the best way to start. I have some Japanese experience but I forgot much. Thank you, Ronny

I really love the Lesson Browser feature! I have gone back to Beginner Lessons and am slowly working my way along. Thanks to Lesson Browser, it’s easy to find the lesson I need.
One thing, though: the search doesn’t work well. I wanted to find lessons dealing with “to omou” と思う and と言う. I used kanji and hiragana and romajii and nothing came up. I was very disappointed about this. Did I do something wrong? Or is there something wrong with “Search”?
