    I have a question:
I want to find out how to write two kanji 晩 and 夜

What I would like to find on this site are the “Kanji Close-ups” for these kanji. But I dont’ think there is a way to find them. Is there?

  6. avatar Liz21 Says:

I think the Kanji Close-ups are not searchable since they are pdf files, but I was wondering if there wa a way to find out when certain kanji were introduced in a particular lesson that had the Kanji Closeup.

    Lizさん,
I would do this with JDIC.
    1) go to http://www.csse.monash.edu.au/~jwb/wwwjdic.html
    2) Select “Search for Words in Dictionary”
    3) Under KEYWORD enter the kanji, e.g. 晩
    4) Click “Begin Search”
    5) Click the “Examine” button near the bottom.
    6) at the end of the description of the Kanji, click the “SOD” button which stands for “stroke order diagram”
    ジョン

    Hey, John-san!
    Thank you very much
However, the think I like about Kanji Closeup is the way they put it in the squares. The stroke order demonstrations on JDIC are too free-flowing. I need discipline!
