This looks good! It will save me time downloading the informal tracks, for example.
I have a question: I already subscribe to the podcast through iTunes. Will I now get double downloads?

Wow. Very cool. I didn’t know you could get PDF’s through iTunes. This is very cool. Now if only I could read them on my iPOD.

Really interesting but the content is still the same - i wonder if your are you gonna release a special premium content only for subscribers - I.e. advanced or business japanese lessons? and maybe to charge on a per-item base?

Liz-san: Yes, iTunes treats each podcast your subscribe to as independent feeds. If you only want the Premium feed, simply unsubscribe to the other. I hope this helps!
John-san: Now that would be cool!!!
Francesco: With the infrastructure and support for password protected feeds in place, you can rest assured that we will be adding premium content to the feed in the future.
Thank you all for the great feedback! Keep it coming and let us know what you think!

Looks like I decided to join the premium group at just the right time… I’m still playing catch-up back in the March06 episodes but the new learning center is definitely easier to walk through quickly, run the quizzes, and add the more *ahem* problematic entries to my lists.
Getting the bonus tracks on the iPod solves my last (mild) frustration, as I used to have to remember which episodes had bonus tracks and try to listen to them in my spare time at work. Which usually does not happen.
とても凄いですね!どもありがとう。

[Will they ever take some rest
It’s so nice to have everything at hand from within iTune.
Just one silly question : could anybody tell me how to download the entire podcast without clicking the GET buttons one thousand time?

Sasquatchua-san: Glad you like the Premium Feed and the new Learning Center. Seems that you’re using both exactly as intended. Keep up the great work!
Jean-Michel-san: As always, you bring up a fabulous question. I believe this is possible (but not recommended) through the iTunes preferences (Edit –> Preferences on a PC). From there you can go to the Podcast tab and choose how you want iTunes to handle new podcast episodes. Be prepared to wait a very long time for all ~400 lessons to be downloaded and to use up a significant amount of resources and disk space (4-5GB). Also be aware that this is a global setting which effects ALL podcast subscriptions. Use at your own risk!

Good feature. The next step, which would make it an amazing, can’t live without feature, is to get the iLearning Center to download with each lesson.

Sindy-san,
Try this alternative approach to subscribe to the Premium Feed:
1) Open up iTunes
2) Go to “Advanced –> Subscribe to Podcast” from top menu
3) Enter http://www.japanesepod101.com/premium_feed/feed.xml
4) Click OK
The above steps should bring up the login window where you can use the username and password of your Premium Subscription.
Hope this helps!

Hello,
I’ve tested the premium feed in my Newsfire RSS reader (my preferred way of downloading and listening to JPod101), it works fine !!
For other RSS readers than iTunes, you could add a Subscribe button with the same link but with feed:// instead of itpc://
Great idea as always!!
