    Awesome site and lessons!

I found out about you this morning, via the Japan Times, as a matter of fact. I’ve spend nearly the whole day checking things out and downloading the previous lessons so that I may catch up.

I’ve been learning for about 3 months now so some of it is review, but because the lessons here cover different topics at a different pace; it isn’t all overlap.

And what I’ve “learned” already is simply reinforced where the material isn’t new - I think it will make a very nice supplement to my existing training regime.

I thank you for your efforts, I’ll do whatever I can to support the site!

Thank you very much for the brilliant program. I started listening to your broadcasting one month ago. The lessons are really interesting and useful. I like the informal part specially. I live in a small town in Scotland, where no Japanese lessons are available. I am grateful for your efforts. Thanks again!

Konnichiwa! Hi! I’m Stephanie from St. Cloud, Minnesota in the U.S. I’m currently a college student and a group of my friends and I are going to enroll in the Japanese class we have offered starting next fall. I’ve been teaching myself Japanese since I was young and I speak Japanese all the time to my friends who are interested in the language and culture. I came across your site will checking the Japan Times website when I came across JapanesePod101. I started listening to it and I thought to myself “If this was made back when I started I would have learned Japanese a lot quicker!” The culture lessons are a real help! So now, my group of friends and I sit around my computer listening to the podcasts and thanks to the PDF files we can use them as worksheets and practice the dialogue with each other. We all wanted to let you know that thanks to your podcast we’re going to wow the professor and everyone in the class next fall thanks to you guys! I also hope to travel to Japan within the year or so, so I hope to possible see you and get your autographs!! Thank you so much! Keep it up or should I say, GANBATTE!!! Doumo arigato gozaimasu!

  20. avatar Nathan Says:

    Stephanie-san,

That’s great! It makes it a lot more fun to study with your friends, and have friends to practice with. You’ll wow the class for sure! Keep up the great work, and keep having fun

Just thought I’d add my voice to all the compliments here. I found JapanesePod101 a couple of weeks ago on iTunes. I’ve never spoken a word of Japanese before and it took me a few days to get through the first couple of episodes (just because it’s so completely different to English) but I’m now well into it, this is the perfect way to learn a language for me. I’m sure everyone on the train think’s I’m a bit perculiar the way I keep muttering strange foreign words under my breath.

But anyway, well done on your press coverage! Hopefully the first of many articles..

  22. avatar Mani Says:

    Hi Guys,

Konnichiwa for all you guys in Japanesepod 101. This is Mani from Sydney, Australia…wanted to add my support and add my voice to the fantastic work you guys are doing. I stumbled across your podcast while I was browsing in itunes for some Japanese lessons and I have to say I am really satisfied with the way your teachings are going.

My g/f is Japanese who lives with me in Sydney for the last 4 yrs and I have been to Japan twice within this time and everytime I come there I struggle so much to communicate with my g/f’s family and friends. I have been planning to learn Japanese for a while and everytime I start by learning Kanchi and Hatagano I just look at it as a huge mountain and never really went much with it. But you guys are making it fun & easier to learn and keeping it on a relaxed pace, good on you guys!!

I am planning to come and live in Japan on working holiday next yr and you guys are making my Japanese learning a experience in itself. Hopefully I can catch you guys when I get down there again.

Your article in Japan times is well deserved and I am sure its the first of many articles….Ganbatte you guys!! Doumo arigato gozaimasu!!
