Pictures Finally! Meet JapanesePod101.com’s Crew!
Saturday, February 25th, 2006
Last Friday, Dr. Lalo, a doctor from Mexico and an avid listener, stopped by JapanesePod101.com! He was vacationing in Tokyo and wanted to pay us a visit, and he found us! We were so happy to see him! We went to the local sushi bar together; he tried the UNI (sea urchin), and he loved it!! He did all the ordering himself!
Dr. Lalo made sure we took some pictures to share with all of you, so “Hello listeners, here we are!”
Starting from the left: Kazunori (JPod101.com’s Alpha-male), Peter (holding an o-miyage (souvenir) from Dr. Lalo), Kazu (That face is on purpose!), Dr. Lalo, Natsuko, Sakura(holding another o-miyage (souvenir) from Dr. Lalo), and Hatsumi. This is just the first of many pictures and videos to come. We hope you enjoy this.
Yoroshiku o-negai shimasu!よろしくおねがいします。

February 26th, 2006 at 4:08 am
Hello everybody!!
Thanks for posting the photo so early, I’m so happy! Thank you guys!!!
I just arrived 5 hours ago (it’s 6 am in Mexico), after more than 24 hours in airports and planes (Mexico City airport was closed for “tech failure” so was delayed more than 3 hours in another airport)… my internal clock is upsidedown, I can’t sleep, and here I’m… downloading all the 11 episodes I missed…
I have to say thanks again for the hard and professional work you are doing with the podcast… (even when I already know what Peter will say… “Its YOU, the listeners who have made Japanesepod what it is…”:win
I felt really welcome between you… thanks for making me feel at home in a place so far from my actual home… specially thanks to you, Peter (and Peter’s wife) for all the nice attentions you had to me… I will be always grateful:smile:, and everybody in the team is welcome in Monterrey, Mexico… any time, just call… you have a friend here…
And to all the listeners: These team is reaaaaally nice, one can think they can’t be nicer as they sound in the podcast… well they really are warm, and charming… and of course FUN… I’m glad I had the chance to meet them…
I will try to sleep… and post more tomorrow about my impressions and the experiences in Japan… see yo
Lalo
PS. The song in the culture class is simply great… please have it available as an mp3 file itself… its SO nice, really… thanks to the “peach flowers” of Japanesepod101.com for that song (Sakura and Hatsumi)… you should really consider singing professionall
February 26th, 2006 at 4:27 am
Natsuko: I think you are a flower too:oops:, I didn’t mention you only because you didn’t sing. ok

Wow… Thats cool! Hey maybe i should drop by japanesepod101 when i am in Japan for my graduation trip, coming like next month? That would be wonderful eh!
Anyways, great picture! Everyone looks good, “Steki des” (I got the spelling right, right?)
February 26th, 2006 at 8:17 am
d0w-san,
You spelt it like you should pronounce it - at least we know you’re saying it right
It should be “suteki desu”, or 素敵です
February 26th, 2006 at 11:30 am
awesome! same sentiments for me: great to put some faces to the names!
February 26th, 2006 at 12:07 pm
Hi everyone!!!
I’m from Chile, in south America. And i just LOVE Japanesepod101. I start to learn japanese with some books, but its hard to understand when you can’t hear the exactly pronunciation of the lenguage. I was very happy when my brother show me the I-Pod Pods… and i try to search for some japanese lessons. I find japanesepod101 and from that day, i just listen you everyday…
Thanks for the EXCELENT work that you do, and you already know… there’s a fan in the extreme oposite side of the world!!!
Hear yaa!!!
PD: Sorry for my english, i just speak it well, but when i have to write…
February 26th, 2006 at 1:10 pm
Benjamin-san,
Welcome to the community
Don’t worry, your English is fine. Let us know if you have any questions or fun stories to share!
February 26th, 2006 at 4:55 pm
HEEEYYYYY!!!
I’m so excited while the page was downloading the pic!!!
You guys look Great!!!
It seems that the Pod team has potential singers…
it would also help a lot in vocabulary and memory if a simple and short song is taught. just my two cents!
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU FOR SINGING SAKURA ANG HATSUMI…
Natsuko? when can we hear your lovely singing voice?
February 26th, 2006 at 6:37 pm
I wanna hear kazunori and kaze singing.
PS, what is kazunori doing with his hands. It doesn’t look accidental, is it some sneaky signal?
the more I look at it, the more it seems rude.
February 26th, 2006 at 9:21 pm
I love seeing the picture! It is wonderful to put faces with your voices. Hatsumi, I wish you well and hope to hear you again. Thank you all for such an enjoyable time to learn Japanese.

February 28th, 2006 at 3:32 am
Great to see your faces! Now I am working in Hong Kong and I listen to Japanesepod101 on a regular basis. Well, I try to listen to one episode everyday but sometimes they accumulate. I actually learned my Japanese in Vancouver. Last summer, I spent 3 months traveling and volunteering in Japan. I love Japan! Keep up your good work! Ganbatte ne!
February 28th, 2006 at 4:21 am
Lily-san,

March 1st, 2006 at 10:49 am
Nathan-san,
Actually my trip was personal but I found a host in Hokkaido through WWOOF (Willing Workers on Organic Farms). Very beautiful lavender fields in Furano in July!
March 1st, 2006 at 12:45 pm
Carmen-san,
That’s really cool. I have been considering doing the WWOOFing thing. I have a friend from Aikido whose cousin has an organic farm at the base of Mt. Fuji. I would like to go through study abroad, but if not I will be doing JET or WWOOFing. Probably JET before WWOOF since I will get paid for that
March 2nd, 2006 at 1:42 pm

Hi,
just started listening to this today! And I must say, WOW! this is so cool, I also have some books about japanese, but hearing it is soo much better!
I must say, the Japanese Culture Chapters are the best! Because I want to know the language _and_ the culture.
Thanks!

Where has Hatsumi gone?
Is she coming back on the show?
March 27th, 2006 at 3:48 am
Andy-san,
Unfortunately, Hatsumi-san had to return to Tokushima some time ago. We’re not sure if she’ll be able to return to the show, but we all hope she will!
We miss you Hatsumi-san!!
March 27th, 2006 at 3:57 am
That is a shame, what a voice!? In tandem with Sakura san it was lovely to listen to. I liked the episode when they were talking about drinking and turning red
Anyway, I am still enjoying the show and think you are all doing a great job.
October 24th, 2006 at 3:23 am
